Antiquities

     On a reddish ochre 
background, the face of 
this  box  is  inlaid  with 
precious  stones  and 
lacquered wood laid out 
in a New Year's morning 
scene of antiquities.  The 
side  wall  is  lacquer 
embellished  with  gilt 
tracery.  The interior of 
the box is a curio cabinet 
that once held trinkets of
various kinds.
